hello, at last (goodbye – for now...!): first encounters and long awaited returns
hello, at last is a concert series at Archestratus curated by percussionist Jess Tsang. The first set, "hello", features two brilliant musicians who have never played together before. Then, a long, long pause to hang out, talk to new friends, drink beautiful drinks. The last set, "at last", is a celebration of that thing your friend did once that you’ve never forgotten, the secret songs, the once-in-a-blue moon band, lightning striking twice.
On April 2nd we will hear the fantastic voice of composer and performer Gelsey Bell alongside French horn extraordinaire Kyra Sims, who recently traveled to Antarctica and may grace us with some sounds from the bottom of the world (hello!) plus the Georgian songs of Ilusha Tsinadze accompanied by Dana Lyn (at last!). Ilusha's album "Yes & No" is one of the best of the best.

April 9th's set brings together performance artist and spatial researcher Jocelyn Beausire's durational actions with guitarist/banjoist/instrument builder Webb Crawford's frenetic strings (hello!), followed by a very special and not-yet determined set by hello, at last curator Jess Tsang (at last!).
April 16th will feature two of the most simultaneously sensitive and punk rock musicians around, and it's anyone's guess whether the set will throw down or sing sweet nothings in your ear. Featuring Filipinx intermedia performance artist gushes and guitarist and songwriter Ben Seretan (hello!), we will then delight in a visit from the lesser gods of The Ancient Forest, who will pay us a rare visit to share stories, song, dance, and conversation (at last!).
April 23rd's set is a sonic feast of low end strings, featuring the genre-surfing Eleonore Oppenheim on upright bass, and interdisciplinary artist and cellist Jonathan Kaiser on cello and perhaps electronics (hello!), closing the series with a long awaited live performance from Rebecca HH Rosen (at last!).
