The Good Cook is a series of instructional cookbooks published by Time-Life from 1978-1980 and sold on a month-by-month basis via direct mail book clubs until the early 1990s. Beloved cookbook author Richard Olney edited. Each volume is dedicated to a single food subject and heavily illustrated with color photos showing preparation stages. Recipes were drawn from a wide array of published sources, all scrupulously acknowledged.
