The British contribution to the opening up of the American West was a large one. British capital financed some of the biggest ranches in Texas, Colorado and Montana and many settlers flocked to take advantage of the free land. In this book I have told just a few of the stories of Englishmen - and women - in the American West. They are colorful tales of migrants in a new and untamed country.
